Wayuu Tassels Mochila
These beautiful bags are handwoven by women of the Wayuu tribe, an indigenous community from La Guajira, a desert region in the northernmost part of Colombia. The Wayuu people are an autonomous and matriarchal tribe, with traditions that have been alive for centuries. The weaving of the traditional ‘Mochila’ bag, is an ancestral work of art that to this day, remains a sacred part of the Wayuu culture and identity. With its exquisite craftsmanship, each Wayuu bag tells a unique story that can take several days to be made.
